The History Of Waste Water Treatment

Back thousands of years ago the process of waste water treatment was a lot different. Back then there wasn't the same technology there is now a days therefor the process was a lot more simple. Back in 8000 b.c. Buildings used underground pipes and channels to transport the waste water. The water was usually just dumped into nearby rivers and lakes. Even though this was not a very good process because it  spread a lot of disease into the bodies of water it was better than having the waste water sit around in the villages and spread even more disease and also make the village smell awful. These underground pipes also helped prevent flooding. Modern day water treatment wasn't introduced until the 19th century.
